But what makes this laser printer particularly appealing to consumers is its budget price tag that ranges from between $100 to $200.

And yet just like most printers, a downside to the LaserJet 1200 is the expensive pricing of its consumables, particularly the replacement toner cartridge. The C7115A toner cartridge that loads with the LaserJet 1200 printer roughly costs $65 a piece for its rating of 2,500 pages at 5% coverage.

Good thing there are cheaper consumables in the aftermarket, particularly compatible toner for use in the HP 1200 printer that is retailed for less than $30. The refill package comes supplied with a bottle of compatible toner powder and a few essential tools necessary for the refill of empty toner cartridges such as the funnel cap, latex gloves, toner wipes and instruction manual. Other than the cost, compatible toner perform as well as the OEM toner in terms of quality and yield since toner powder supplied with the;kit was manufactured based on the particle size and composition of the counterpart OEM toner. Heres a rundown of the refill procedures for the C7115aA and C7115X toner cartridge.

First of all, secure all the necessary tools and materials. Now that would include the toner refill kit and then the refill tool which is sold separately. Thereafter, follow the refill procedures outlined in the instructional manual.Put the refill tool on its tool stand, plug it at a nearby outlet and allow the tool to heat up for 3 minutes.

Remove the cartridge from the printer.

Retrieve the heated refill tool and position its copper tip on the spot indicated on the manual. Push it down gently and hold it for a couple of minutes or until a hole is melted. Remove the melted piece should it fall into the now exposed toner chamber.

Set aside the refill tool. Allow the device to cool down and unplug it thereafter.

Discard old toner residues from inside the toner chamber and use toner wipes to remove waste toner sticking on the surface.

Retrieve the toner bottle from the package and tap the bottom part to loosen clump particles. After which, pull off the seal to open.

Securely attach the funnel cap on the mouth of the bottle and carefully insert the spout over the hole.

Slowly dispense toner powder into the toner chamber.

Once bottle is emptied or when toner chamber is filled, remove the funnel cap and then twist the hopper plug into the fill hole until it seals completely.

Gently shake the cartridge from side to side to evenly distribute supplied toner.

Load the cartridge back to the printer and run a test print.

Sometimes, smudges can be noticed from the printed document. This is an indicator that the waste hopper needs cleaning. Heres how maintenance work is performed on the waste hopper:

Remove the cartridge from the printer again.

As indicated on the manual, melt a hole over the waste hopper section of the cartridge.

Discard waste toner filling the waste hopper.

Seal the hole with electrical tape or duct tape.

Reload the toner cartridge back to the printer.

Compatible HP 1200 toner is definitely a must try product because of its affordable pricing and remarkable print quality. Moreover, the refill process is so easy that it takes only about 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
